Evaluating the Future of the New York Rangers

Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Ranger’s future will be fun to watch for sure, so here’s let’s discuss what’s in store. The New York Rangers are currently the youngest NHL Team in the league with an averaging 26.2 years of age. There are many bright futures for the youngsters such as Filip Chytil, Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, Igor Shesterkin, Alexander Georgiev, Tony DeAngelo and definitely many others. The Rangers offense is awesome to watch, especially with these young players. Filip Chytil is someone who is only getting better and has had a solid season so far, and is developing great. Another great offensive threat is Kaapo Kakko. Obviously not putting up the big numbers with the team (yet), but I think he has a bright future with the Blueshirts.  The 19-year-old forward has 23 points this year and was drafted just behind #1 overall pick from the New Jersey Devils, Jack Hughes. The Rangers are a powerful offense with many weapons such as Mika Zibanejed, Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider. The Rangers defense is a solid young core and has had awesome development. A name that easily stands out is Adam Fox. Fox is a very talented defenseman that brings a lot of offense to this young core. He has an amazing hockey IQ and can become a lethal defenseman in his upcoming NHL years. Fox is a strong pair...

How the Injury Plagued Blackhawks will Benefit From the Suspended Season

Reading Time: 2 minutesWhen the NHL season was suspended on March 12, the Blackhawks were in bad shape. Really bad shape. Brent Seabrook was out for the year, along with Calvin DeHaan, Andrew Shaw, Drake Caggiula, and Zack Smith. Guys who all played different roles but could still contribute to the Blackhawks success this season. While Brent Seabrook and Andrew Shaw are not expected to return this year, Calvin DeHaan and Adam Boqvist are expected to come back, and Zack Smith still remains questionable. By getting Calvin DeHaan back, the Blackhawks now have a partner to play alongside Duncan...

How the NHL Has Changed Drastically Throughout History

Reading Time: 2 minutesHockey is a traditionalist, gritty, non-stop sport that involves physicality and speed. The game is simple, put the puck in the back of the net. The question we are looking at now, is how the game has changed since its inaugural season. First we will start off with the obvious, the fact that there were six teams: The Rangers, Red Wings, Canadiens, Blackhawks, Maple Leafs, and Bruins. These were the first teams to fight for the cup starting in the 1942 season. They played with six teams up until the 1967 NHL expansion. Secondly, the gear...

The Top 10 Worst NHL Jerseys of All-Time

Reading Time: 4 minutesHockey uniforms are huge part of the game and culture, but poor uniforms can also ruin the image of a team: ___________________________________ 10. 1996-2006 Boston Bruins “pooh bear” jersey The bear itself isn’t all too bad, it isn’t great, but at the same time it isn’t terrible. The rest of the jersey is just plain awful though. The yellow is off, ,the striping is bad, and what is up with the Bruins text on the shoulders? 9.  2001-2007 Nashville Predators mustard yellow alternates Unlike many others, I actually don’t mind the logo on these jerseys, it...

Why Are the Islanders Still Struggling?

Reading Time: < 1 minuteAt the deadline, the Islanders made a huge trade acquiring center Jean-Gabriel Pageau from the Senators. The Isles desperately needed scoring help as they are under the league average in goals per game. Adding a center was definitely an area that needed some help after Casey Cizikas went down a couple of weeks ago, and has yet to even return to skating. The 27 year old has been having a tremendous season in Ottawa, scoring 24 goals, which no Islander has yet to reach this season, as well as 16 helpers in just 60 games...
