1. Trevor Lawrence – QB, Clemson

Despite having the worst outing of his 2020 season, Trevor Lawrence and the Tigers still tacked Syracuse with a 47-21 win. Lawrence wasn’t sharp from the start but still energized the box score. Tossing his second interception this fall, which resulted in a pick-six, this kept Lawrence on his toes for the entirety of the game. Darting a season-high 43 passing attempts with 27 completions, Lawrence ended the night with 289 passing yards, two passing TD and one INT. The projected no. 1 pick will have to keep his pace in order to keep up against Ohio State’s Justin Fields.

2. Justin Fields – QB, Ohio State

In Ohio State’s first game back, Justin Fields and the Buckeyes put on a show against Nebraska. Fields, a Heisman finalist last year, opened up his 2020 campaign with a statement game. Putting on a clinic in the air game, Fields was nearly perfect as he went 20-for-21 with 276 passing yards and two TDs. Rushing for 54 yards and a score, Fields has proved he can be an elite quarterback in both aspects of the game. It’s safe to say that the Heisman award will be given to either Fields or Lawrence, as the two elite Quarterbacks lead the pack. Fields and the Buckeyes will have a prime time match up against Penn State next Saturday night.

3. Mac Jones – QB, Alabama

Having a Heisman-esque performance against Tennessee, Mac Jones flirted with a 400 yard passing game. The Alabama Quarterback was efficient from the pocket, completing 25-of-31. Scoring one on the ground, Jones will need to continue his ground work ability as star receiver Jaylen Waddle is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a Torn ACL. The leader of the Crimson Tide will look to continue his strong season next week against Mississippi State.

4. Zach Wilson – QB, BYU

Zach Wilson of BYU has been building an under-the-radar Heisman season. Shutting down Texas State 52-14, Wilson went for 19-of-25 with 287 passing yards with four TDs. Totaling eight TDs in his last two outings, BYU continues to storm up the rankings as they currently sit at no. 11. Through six starts, Wilson has put up monster numbers with nearly 2,000 passing yards, 16 TDs and one INT. If he continues his stellar pace, Wilson could be played in the Lawrence-Fields category of Quarterbacks. Next week, BYU will continue their undefeated season at Boise State.

5. Najee Harris – RB, Alabama

Adding three TDs to his nation-leading total, Najee Harris continues to show the country that he is the best Running Back in College Football. With a season total of 103 carries, 595 rushing yards and 14 Touchdowns, Harris will certainly keep his spot in the Heisman rankings for the remainder of the season. Carrying a Derrick Henry-esque poise to the Crimson Tide backfield, Harris will be a main component into why Alabama makes it to the CFB playoffs.
