Ever wondered who were the Top 5 most dominant teams – by points – in a single campaign? Here is your answer:
-
Chelsea 2016/17
For the first time in a Premier League season, a team managed to win 30 games out of 38.
The manager at the time, Antonio Conte, won the title in only his first year at the club. Chelsea went on an absolute spree winning 13 games in a row before losing 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. The Blues won 30, Tied 3 and lost 5, ending the season with 93 points.
- Chelsea 2004/05
Conte was not the first manager to win the premier league in their first season; Jose Mourinho had done it with the same club 12 years before.
Mourinho set quite a few records in his debut year in England: Only conceding 15 goals and keeping 25 clean sheets. The Blues won 29, Tied 8 and lost only 1 game, finishing with 95 points and winning the title by 12 points.
-
Liverpool 2018/19
The best team on this list to fail to win the Premier League, falling short to Manchester City by merely 1 point.
This team had both great attackers and amazing defenders: Scoring 89 and conceding only 22. The Reds finished the season with 30 wins, 7 ties and only 1 loss (that came about at the hands of Manchester City) and ended with an impressive 97 points.
-
Manchester City 2018/19
The team that denied Liverpool of their first Premier League title ever, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City won the league at the death in the final game of the season.
The team scored a staggering 95 goals. The Sky Blues ended their campaign with 32 Wins, 2 ties and 4 losses, adding up to 98 points.

Manchester City 2017/18
Arguably the best Premier League team ever.
This was a season where Manchester City broke nearly every record in England: most away game wins (16), most goals (106), biggest goal difference* (79) and most consecutive wins (18).
They were also crowned champions earlier than any other team winning the league with a margin of 19 points. City’s stats were: 32 wins, 4 ties and 2 losses, ending their season with a colossal 100 points.
