With the NFL starting this week, here’s a brief guide to this week’s fantasy matchups:

Who to Start:

WR Stefon Diggs (BUF)

Buffalo has a favorable week 1 matchup vs NYJ, now without Jamal Adams, their secondary looks quite shaky. With Josh Allen’s rocket arm, Diggs could find himself reeling him lots of longballs all Sunday long.

RB Josh Jacobs (LV)

Jacobs kicks off his sophomore season in Carolina, against the PFF ranked league worst Panther defense. Jacobs should have a hay-day on a young, and below average defensive line. With Luke Keuchely retired, the panther’s linebackers and defensive line will have their hands full with Jacobs.

QB Deshaun Watson (HOU)

Watson faces the Chiefs, whose defense saw vast improvement in 2019,  in Thursday’s opener. However with no preseason, you can expect defenses lack their normal stamina. With Watson’s great speed, and amazing playmaking ability, he’ll be able to keep the Chiefs guessing, and likely push the pace when on the field.

Who to Sit:

RB Kenyan Drake (ARI)

Drake and the Cardinals face arguably the league’s best defense, in the 49ers. Lacking a great offensive line, the Cardinals will likely be feeling the heat from the 49ers. With great depth from top to bottom on San Francisco’s defense, Drake figures to be neutralized on the ground, and likely in the passing game as well.

RB Ronald Jones (TB)

Tampa Bay still has a lot to figure out at the RB position before Ronald Jones is a safe fantasy starter. With 3 options for RB1, Jones likely will split snaps on Sunday, causing his numbers to take a big hit. Until Jones emerges as the top RB in Tampa, I’d stray away from him.

QB Joe Burrow (CIN)

Burrow will get a warm welcome to the league when he meets a fantastic Chargers secondary this Sunday. The Chargers figure to lock down the Bengals lackluster receivers, and will be bringing pressure with the likes of Joey Bosa, and Melvin Ingram. Burrow will have his work cut out in week 1, making me believe he should be on your bench this week.
