Jordan Laudato is a standout strongside defensive end from Henderson High School located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He is in the class of 2021 and is ranked as the 14th best recruit in the state of Pennsylvania according to Rivals. During Laudato’s extremely successful high school career, he managed to rake in 16 division offers including Temple, Buffalo, UMass, and many more. He also received Power 5 interest from the likes of Penn State, Syracuse, and Rutgers. He released his three finalists on May 27th consisting of Temple, Villanova, and Buffalo. Later on June 5th, United he announced his verbal commitment to the Temple Owls on North Broad Street.
Temple is coming off an 8-5 season including two wins over ranked opponents and brand new head coach Rod Carey, who previously had a very successful stint at NIU. During an interview conducted with Laudato, when asked why he chose Temple he said, “A lot of reasons, but it just felt like home, and the best fit”. Laudato also told me in our interview that Temple defensive line coach, Walter Stewart, and he “built a great relationship through our recruitment process” and that Temple envisions his future role to “play strongside defensive end”. When asked to describe his play style Laudato responded with three words… “Quick and powerful”. After watching his film you can easily see why he chose those words. Laudato’s impressive NFL type body mixed with his length and speed could make him a weapon at the next level. His first step quickness as well as his sheer power are incredible for his size.
I truly think Laudato’s recruitment would have blown up if he was able to participate in summer camps, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic he will not be allowed to go out and play. During our online interview, I asked Laudato what his personal statistical goal was for his final high school season and he replied, “ I’d like to end with 60 tackles and at least 12 sacks”. Those are staggering numbers, but for him that is definitely not out of reach.
Laudato rounds out Temple’s sixth verbal commit for the 2021 class following recent commit Johnny Martin, three star running back out of Highland Regional highschool.
