Valentina Shevchenko was a -2000 betting favorite for her title defense against Jennifer Maia on November 21. Shevchenko dominated the fight and kept her belt. It seems as if nobody in the Women’s Flyweight division can pose any real threat to the champion, so what’s next for her?

If Shevchenko were to take a fight against a flyweight contender, the betting odds would be heavily in her favor. The only challenger to possibly pose a threat would be former Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade, only because of her power.

Shevchenko can take on two fights that would be exciting: Zhang Weili or Amanda Nunes.

Zhang Weili is the current Strawweight champion and would likely have to go up in weight to fight Shevchenko. This would be a great fight, however, if Zhang Weili wins, then the UFC would have 2 double champions in the women’s divisions, clogging up all four divisions.

The next option would be Amanda Nunes.

Nunes and Shevchenko have fought twice already; both times Nunes won, however the second fight was razor thin. If this fight is at bantamweight, then Shevchenko would become a double champ. It would also receive a lot of hype because of the history between the two. Whichever fight Shevchenko chooses, I wish her the best.
