The NFC East this season may be one of the worst, most disappointing divisions in league history due to brutal injuries and all around bad play. With six games left to play on the season, every team in the division has a realistic shot to host a playoff game. As for the Giants, they went into the bye week on a very high note with wins over the Football Team and Eagles.
These victories were mainly behind great performances from Daniel Jones, where he didn’t turn the ball over a single time and made countless big throws. New York seems to be catching steam at just the right time, but in no means is their road to the playoffs easy.
In their remaining six games, the Giants face tough competition like the Seahawks, Cardinals, and Ravens. However, the other three games ease up a bit, as they will be playing the Browns, Cowboys and Bengals. Besides the 49ers game in Week 3, the Giants have had a real chance to win every game they have played in. Realistically, the Giants can finish with three or four wins which would most likely give them a playoff birth.
As it sits currently, the Eagles hold onto a weak half-game lead over every other team in the division. The rest of the Eagles schedule is brutal, including teams like the Packers, Saints, Cardinals and Seahawks. With the way Philadelphia is playing right now, the only game I see them winning the rest of the season is against the Football Team in Week 17.
This leaves the door wide open for the Giants to win a few games and sneak into the postseason. Although these are my opinions, anything is possible—and if you have been watching this season so far, you’ll know that crazier scenarios have happened.
As a Giants fan myself, I would love to see my team host a playoff game and try to ruin the season of another NFC team. Being as unbiased as possible, I can truly see my hopes coming into fruition. I am going to predict that the Giants will win four of their remaining games and host a playoff game at 7-9.
This team will only get better the rest of the season with key players like Oshane Ximines and Xavier McKinney coming back to rejuvenate an already top 15 defense. If Daniel Jones and the offense keep clicking, watch out for the Giants to be a darkhorse team representing New York in the postseason.
