Reading Time: 2 minutes

Browns young TE David Njoku recently requested a trade from the team.

I can’t say that I’m surprised considering his good level of talent, along with Cleveland paying Austin Hooper, and investing a 4th round pick in underrated prospect Harrison Bryant. I expect Njoku to go for a 3rd-5th round pick.

With that being said, there are 5 teams that I see as great fits and likely landing spots, so let’s find out who they are.

5 – Panthers

Carolina has lacked a vertical TE for a decent bit now. Ever since Olsen lost that aspect to his game, the offense as a whole hasn’t been the same. Njoku would provide another weapon to that offense that they have lacked for a long time.

Ian Thomas is a massive question mark, and Njoku would give the Panthers their best TE since healthy Olsen.

4 – Ravens

You may be thinking: They have Mark Andrews, why do they need Njoku? But hear me out.

The Ravens have a plethora of draft picks, and they use a ton of TEs in their system. Hayden Hurst needs to be replaced, and if the market is minimal, I could see a smart team like Baltimore capitalizing and getting even richer at the TE spot.

3 – Redskins

I don’t know whether or not to say “Redskins” but this roster needs him. There is a lot of hype surrounding UDFA Thaddeus Moss, but other than being the son of a legend, there is no reason that he should be a starter.

Njoku would be an immediate upgrade to Jeremy Sprinkle and would provide a weapon to a very talent-lacking Washington offense.

2 – Patriots

I think this one was obvious. Both Josh McDaniels and Cam Newton have been very reliant on the TE position for over a decade, and the Pats simply don’t have a proven guy.

They did select Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene in the third round, but they both didn’t produce much in college and won’t provide the verticality that the aging Patriots roster needs immediately.

1 – Cardinals

Arizona may have the worst starting TE in the NFL. Maxx Williams has shown nothing other than TE2 talent and Njoku is far better.

The Air Raid scheme doesn’t need a TE, but Njoku even as a decoy would be worth a mid-round pick. Even getting Njoku’s worst would provide a valuable aspect to this offense that it hasn’t had in a while.

Honorable Mentions: Packers, Colts, Bengals

Unlikely: Jets, Bills, Cowboys, Texans, Jags
