Three Reasons Why Drew Lock Will Break Out this Season

Reading Time: 2 minutesOften times when talking about the 2019 Quarterback class, people mention Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins, and Gardner Minshew. Those four are great young QBs in their own right, but one name often gets lost in the fire: Broncos QB Drew Lock. Here are three reasons why Lock will have a breakout year: The Broncos surrounded him with talent  The Broncos already had a solid foundation on offense with WR Courtland Sutton, TE Noah Fant, and RB Phillip Lindsay. In the off-season, GM John Elway made it his mission to give Lock as much help...

What Fantasy Value does Mike McCarthy Bring to the Dallas Offense?

Reading Time: 2 minutesMike McCarthy in his tenure as an offensive coordinator and head coach has had a variety of offenses that he has worked with. I went back to see if we can find some trends in his wide receivers to see if we can learn and predict anything about how the Cowboys offense will work in this upcoming season. From 2000 to 2004 McCarthy was an OC for the Saints, he jumped to the 49ers in 2005, and then he finally became a HC in 2006 with the Green Bay Packers where he stayed until 2018. From...

Why the Blackhawks Will Win At Least Two Playoff Rounds

Reading Time: 2 minutesWith the NHLPA approving the 24-team return-to-play format on May 22, 2020, Blackhawk’s playoff hockey is officially back in Chicago for the first time since 2017. The team will face the Edmonton Oilers in the play-in round, and will then lead to the typical 16-team format used year-to-year. If they beat the Oilers, they will play the Dallas Stars in the official first round series. I believe the Blackhawks can beat both of these teams. Here’s why: First, the Blackhawks have playoff-proven players in Johnathan Towes, Patrick Kane, Brandon Saad, Duncan Keith, and even other non-dynasty...

Evaluating the Future of the New York Rangers

Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Ranger’s future will be fun to watch for sure, so here’s let’s discuss what’s in store. The New York Rangers are currently the youngest NHL Team in the league with an averaging 26.2 years of age. There are many bright futures for the youngsters such as Filip Chytil, Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, Igor Shesterkin, Alexander Georgiev, Tony DeAngelo and definitely many others. The Rangers offense is awesome to watch, especially with these young players. Filip Chytil is someone who is only getting better and has had a solid season so far, and is developing great. Another great offensive threat is Kaapo Kakko. Obviously not putting up the big numbers with the team (yet), but I think he has a bright future with the Blueshirts.  The 19-year-old forward has 23 points this year and was drafted just behind #1 overall pick from the New Jersey Devils, Jack Hughes. The Rangers are a powerful offense with many weapons such as Mika Zibanejed, Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider. The Rangers defense is a solid young core and has had awesome development. A name that easily stands out is Adam Fox. Fox is a very talented defenseman that brings a lot of offense to this young core. He has an amazing hockey IQ and can become a lethal defenseman in his upcoming NHL years. Fox is a strong pair...

The Fallout from Oklahoma State’s Postseason Ban

Reading Time: 2 minutesFriday morning came with some unfortunate news for Pokes fans.  Oklahoma State basketball had received a postseason ban for a Level 1 violation.  The Cowboys also received a 3 scholarship reduction through 2023, and 3 years probation.  This is connected to the broader scheme of the FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball. The allegations against Oklahoma State center around former assistant coach Lamont Evans.  Evans was fired in late 2017, but allegations against him stem nearly as far back as a year and a half. Evans supposedly accepted a multitude of bribes from financial advisors...
