Who NFL Teams WILL Draft V.S. Who They SHOULD Draft (2020; 1-8)

The title pretty much explains the concept of this article, and be warned, it is very opinionated in nature. So no more explanation required, let’s get right to the point.

1. Cincinnati Bengals

WILL DRAFT: JOE BURROW

SHOULD DRAFT: JOE BURROW

This is probably THE clearest and most obvious draft pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Bengals QB situation hasn’t been outstanding, so they need to take a chance on a franchise QB THIS YEAR.

2. Washington Redskins

WILL DRAFT: CHASE YOUNG

SHOULD DRAFT: CHASE YOUNG

Chase Young is the best player in this year’s draft class, hands down. He had an OUTSTANDING season at Ohio State, recording 46 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles! Chase is a player that ANY defensive team would want on the line of scrimmage.

3. Detroit Lions

WILL DRAFT: JEFF OKUDAH

SHOULD DRAFT: ISAIAH SIMMONS @ 6

The Lions will probably draft Jeff Okudah assuming they keep their pick, as they are trying to win now, meaning they need to improve their passing defense.

Isaiah Simmons is the most versatile player in this year’s draft, and a player that can be developed at multiple spots by a defensive-minded head coach is the best pick at #6.

4. New York Giants

WILL DRAFT: Jedrick Wills

SHOULD DRAFT: Jedrick Wills @ 5

If the Giants can threaten to take Tua at #4 instead of Wills, the Dolphins should be able to swap picks with the Giants to ensure they get their new QB. The Giants would still take Wills with the 5th pick, and since Jones was sacked 38 TIMES last year, they need an offensive lineman.

5. Miami Dolphins

WILL DRAFT: TUA TAGOVAILOA

SHOULD DRAFT: TUANIGAMANUOLEPOLA TAGOVAILOA

The SAME PERSON, I just wanted to teach you guys his real name if you didn’t know. Tua is the obvious pick for the Dolphins here, as they need a QB desperately that they can trust for the next decade +.

6. Los Angeles Chargers

WILL DRAFT: DERRICK BROWN @ 6; TUA TAGOVAILOA @ 3

SHOULD DRAFT: DERRICK BROWN @ 6; TUA TAGOVAILOA @ 3

If the Chargers end up keeping their spot in the draft, their weak defense from last year needs an upgrade. However, if the Lions are willing to deal them the 3rd pick in the draft, they are definitely going to take their future QB in Tua.

7. Carolina Panthers

WILL DRAFT: JERRY JEUDY

SHOULD DRAFT: CeeDee LAMB

Why CeeDee over Jeudy? Lamb is a more versatile receiver and is also bigger. He also has decent speed that he can improve and is a good fit for an NFL system since he can be lined up anywhere you need him to be.

8. Arizona Cardinals

WILL DRAFT: JAVON KINLAW

SHOULD DRAFT: JAVON KINLAW

The offense was a MUCH improved stat of the Cardinals, ranking #13 in offensive efficiency with their rookie quarterback, but their defense still almost last in the NFL.
