The Boston Celtics are set to begin their series against the Toronto Raptors and are looking poised at making a championship run, but the Celtics are set to become the next dynasty of the league and here is why.
The first reason is they are littered with young talent and nobody on the current roster is above the age 31.
However — they currently play like a group of savvy veterans and this comes evident as they are the only team in basketball to have three players average more than 20 PPG: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker. For guys like Tatum and Brown, everyone knows their ceiling has still not been touched with their incredible talent paired with their young age. This can also apply to the bench players such as Grant Willaims, Robert Williams, and Romeo Langford, although their ceilings may not be as high they can still improve just like Tatum and Brown.
The second reason is they play as a team. As cliche as that sounds, it’s very true.
Under HC Brad Stevens they are consistently among the league’s best in every defensive category. With other great individual defenders such as Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum on the roster. This team defense has transitioned into a great team offense which is why the Celtics are 5th in offensive rating. This team has everyone bought into a tight system under Brad Stevens and it seems to be working because as most of you know defense wins championships.
This Celtics team is good and it will be that way for a while. Boston has everything in place with not only on the floor — but with one of the best GM’s in the league making the decision. The Celts also have a coach who has the team checked into place on both ends sides of the court. Do not be surprised if this team is the next force of the NBA.
