Burrow was a solid pick but there were really no other options for the Bengals due to the injury concerns of Tua Tagovailoa. In my opinion, it is too good to be true. Joe Burrow was not even projected to get drafted at the start of the 2019 season. So you are telling me that out of nowhere, this guy has one good season and everyone believes he is a superstar?
To me, that is just too hard to believe which is why I feel Burrow will not be successful in the league.
I believe that Burrow will be a mid-tier quarterback, and may crack the top 10 for 1-2 seasons of his career. My pro comparison is a player like Kirk Cousins or Tony Romo. Burrow has the talent to be successful, but I don’t think his consistency is there. He only had one season in college where he proved himself, and I don’t think that will carry over since he is on the Bengals.
I think that he could lead the Bengals to several playoff appearances in the future, but they will never make it out of the divisional round.
In Burrow’s rookie season, I feel that he will be the runner-up for rookie of the year. There are many great offensive rookies such as Tua, Herbert, Jeudy, Lamb, and Ruggs, that can all put up a good fight in the race for ROTY.
If I had to guess I would say Burrow will have a decent year, leading the Bengals to a record of about 5-11, but he won’t stand out. He will probably play like Dwayne Haskins did last year, where he just won’t be consistent enough to win many football games.
In Burrow’s future, I see him peaking around the 2026 season, and after that, it will be the start of his downfall. Fans will see promising seasons from him, but he will never be consistent enough to win them anything legitimate.
While Burrow has the talent and work ethic to be great, I just don’t see him succeeding in the NFL.
I also think the Bengals coaching staff is not good enough to develop Burrow, and they are not providing him with the offensive line that he needs.
Do you agree with me or do you think that Joe Burrow will succeed in the NFL?
