This past week, I got the opportunity to interview 4-Star Clemson commit- Walker Parks

Walker Parks is a 6’5″, 275 lbs Offensive Tackle from Lexington, Kentucky.

Parks is a 4-star recruit who is ranked the 5th best Offensive Tackle, and the 49th overall best player in the Class of 2020 by 247 Sports.

Parks held offers from numerous schools, but eventually chose to sign with Clemson on October 2nd, 2018. Parks was a major reason why Frederick Douglass High was so successful, as he didn’t allow a sack in 15 games his senior year.

Parks also helped his team record over 5,000 yards of total offense.

Parks’ personal resume is also impressive.

In four years of high school, Parks was named the 5A District POTY, was a First-Team All-State selection, and was a 2x captain for Frederick Douglass High.

Parks also participated in the Opening Finals All-Star camp, and was selected to the Under Armour All-America Game. To round out his career, Parks was named as a Second-Team All-American by Maxpreps. Parks will enroll at Clemson in June 2020.

Q: You had offers from schools like Auburn, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Cincinnati. What made Clemson special and why did you commit there?

I had always wanted to go to Clemson. The second they offered I wanted to commit, but I still waited and took a few more visits. Something has just been telling me to go there my whole life.

Q: What have you been doing to keep yourself active and strong during this pandemic?

I’m still lifting every day and conditioning so I’m keeping up fairly well. This is probably the strongest I’ve been.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about playing for Dabo Swinney and Clemson next season?

I’m very excited to compete and go against other colleges. I’ve always watched college football so I’m excited to get a taste of it. I miss tiring people.

Q: You accomplished a lot in your time at Frederick Douglass High. You were the 5A District POTY, First Team All-State, and helped your offense record more than 5,000 yards of total offense. What has been your most memorable accomplishment and why?

Most memorable accomplishment was probably the opening finals. I made so many good friends and had such a good time. And not a lot of people get to do that so I was very lucky they selected me.

Q: Off the field, what is something people may not know about you?

One thing about me is I love music. Music influences my everyday actions and I don’t think there’s ever not music playing around me. I love playing my banjo and learning to play guitar but music is a huge part of my life. Wish I was good at it haha!

Big thanks to Walker for doing the interview!
