Jamal Adams Blockbuster: Analysis from Both Sides

Reading Time: 2 minutesWell, Jamal Adams had his wish come true. The All-Pro safety, formerly a member of the New York Jets, has a new team. He has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for Bradley McDougald, a first-round pick in 2021, a third-round pick in 2021, and another first-round pick in 2022. The Seahawks also receive a fourth-round pick. Here are my thoughts on the trade for both sides. From Seattle’s perspective, they get an absolute game-changer on defense. Jamal Adams is the best safety in the league, and fills a need for Seattle in the secondary. Seattle’s secondary was roasted by Davante Adams in the playoffs last year, and even though Adams is not a cover corner, he will make QBs think twice about throwing it on his side of the field. Also, considering the Seahawks first-round picks would probably be late first anyway, they gave it up for one of the best defenders in football. This almost certainly cements their case as Super Bowl contenders. The Jets also did an amazing job with this trade. First of all, they traded Adams out of their conference which was an incredibly smart move. Secondly, they got a HAUL for him. Two first-rounders, plus a third-rounder? They are set up nicely for the future to trade for a star, or stand pat and build for the future. Furthermore, they...

Breaking Down Joe Douglas’ First Free Agency and the Jets Offensive Line Rebuild

Reading Time: 2 minutesThe hiring of Joe Douglas as the next general manager of the New York Jets in the summer of 2019 provided desperate fans with the hope of a brighter future. This past off-season’s free agency was the first major test to the Jets’ new front office. While the team was thin at cornerback and lacked a solid edge rusher, their main issue centered around their atrocious offensive line.  In 2019, the Jets quarterbacks got sacked an average of 3.2 times a game and 52 times overall which was 29th in the NFL, only less than the...

Why This Unexpected Team Can Make A Run for Jamal Adams

Reading Time: 2 minutesOn June 18, 2020, All-Pro Safety Jamal Adams demanded the Jets’ front office to grant him and his representation the ability to seek a trade, leaving many Jets fans in awe with the shocking news. After contract extension negotiations between New York and Adams made little to no progress, the trade request was not out of the blue. The request, however, left Jets fans with a mixture of feelings. Some fans feel the Jets should trade their consecutive team MVP right away, while others feel that if New York held on Adams, in time he will...

The Top 5 Landing Spots for Jamal Adams

Reading Time: 2 minutesOver a month and a half after the 2020 NFL Draft, Jamal Adams has requested a trade from the Jets. His reason apparently being over contract negotiations. There are reports Jamal could be asking up to $20 million annually, but I’d expect that number to be more around $16.5-17 million, a comfortable couple million ahead of the current highest paid safety, Eddie Jackson. What he eventually gets will depend on his destination, and he gave 8 teams he would welcome a trade to. The Ravens, Cowboys, Texans, Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers, Seahawks, and Bucs were the teams...

Should the Jets Trade or Extend Superstar Safety Jamal Adams?

Reading Time: 2 minutesJamal Adams was drafted in 2017 with the 6th overall pick for the Jets and has made the Pro-Bowl twice in his three seasons that he has been in the league. Jamal is one of the best safeties in the league, if not the best. Since the NFL trade deadline, however, I don’t think Jamal has been the same player. The 2019 NFL trade deadline was on October 29th at 4 PM. It was reported that the Jets were shopping Jamal Adams. Joe Douglas is the GM of the Jets who answered phone calls from teams...
