Reading Time: 2 minutes

In free agency, we saw the Broncos pursued two former Pro Bowl defenders in Jurrell Casey and A.J Bouye. Adding  a new guard in Graham Glasgow and a dynamic runner/receiver Melvin Gordon, a majority of holes on defense are now filled.

Expect the a Broncos to target a number of offensive players to surround Drew Lock with a strong arsenal both on the offensive line and in the receiving corp.

Round 1 Pick 8: WR Jerry Jeudy (Alabama)

After the trading Emmanuel Sanders last season and the trade down to pick 20, the Broncos have a large arsenal of picks to move up in the Draft. John Elway packages those third round picks along with pick 178 to get to pick 8 and select Jerry Jeudy.

The dynamic receiver out of Alabama provides Drew Lock with another elite weapon.  Jeudy should fit the offensive scheme extremely well.

Round 1 Pick 31: OT Josh Jones (Houston)

Another trade! This time John Elway sends picks 46 and 77 to John Lynch for the 31st selection. While it may seem unlikely for the Broncos to make two trade ups, diving deeper into what we know, this makes a ton of sense.

The Broncos have already met with Jones twice, and are reportedly shopping LT Garrett Bolles. Jones would easily come in and be an anchor on the line from day one.

Round 4 Pick 118: ILB Joe Bachie Jr. (Michigan State)

Having addressed the two biggest needs in OT and WR, John Elway targets a tackling machine by Drafting Joe Bachie Jr. in Round 4. Broncos held a pre-draft meeting with Bachie and he is a multi year captain from MSU.

He fits the profile of what Elway has been looking for in the past two years. With Vic Fangio also saying the team will look to upgrade at linebacker, this makes a ton of sense.

Round 6 Pick 181: CB Essang Bassey (Wake Forest)

Obviously the Broncos will be looking to add to their DB group throughout the draft.  In Round 6, Denver adds one of the most athletic DBs in the draft, Essang Bassey. Bassey ran a 4.4  40and fits the mold of a “Fangio DB.”

Round 7 Pick 252: S Jalen Elliot

In Round 7 John Elway continues to add to the DB group. This time  Elway adds a safety who will provide much needed depth behind Simmons and Jackson, while also contributing on special teams.

Round 7 Pick 254: OT Jon Runyan

With the second to last pick in the draft, the Broncos add immediate depth behind RT Ja’Wuan James. James is  flexible and can step up if needed.
