As a Spurs supporter, the delay of this season was another gift from the football gods.
As injuries kept piling up, the embarrassing losses kept rolling in. It’s heartbreaking to see the talented club going from Champions League finalists, to not even be Europa League-bound as they are stuck mid-table at the moment.
Nonetheless, I still believe In Jose Mourinho, as it’s definitely not fair to judge him when half the team is injured, to the point where some of the academy players had to make their debuts.
As long as Daniel Levy (chairman for Spurs), who by the way cut wages from non-playing staff, doesn’t interfere with the legendary manager, he for sure will be very busy this summer transfer window.
Now, the rumors I’m about to show you guys are from the trustworthy twitter page, “@marc_ba12”, as he has correctly reported many signings from the 18/19 season and is even followed by a huge Spurs fan himself, Steve Nash.
Marc rates the rumors from a tier system: Tier 1 being 100% accurate and Tier 5 being the same chances of Ben Simmons making a 3 pointer — impossible.

1. “Philipe Coutinho open to Join Spurs” (Tier: 3)
As much of a world-class player that Coutinho is, I believe a midfielder is no longer a priority at all for Spurs.
With the likes of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Delle Alli, Harry Winks, Gedson Fernandes, Oliver Skipp being the future for Spurs, there is no need for another midfielder, especially with the high wages Coutinho brings.
2. ” Jose Mourinho wants Tottenham to sign Benfica full-back Alex Grimaldo this summer” (Tier: 3)
Full-back: The most needed position for Spurs at the moment.
Alex Grimaldo hasn’t been playing his best football at the moment but that’s due to the lack of rest. Still, would be a great addition to the team. A fresh start is all it takes.
Must-buy for Tottenham as they are still searching for their fullback of the future.
3. “Real Madrid is looking to offload striker Luka Jobic this summer. Spurs are one of the clubs who have had previous interest in the player” (Tier: 3)
Another player struggling to find their place in La Liga. With Spurs desperately finding Harry Kane’s partner Luka Jovic could be another player breaking out with a fresh start.
Though the 50 million price tag is hefty, a wonder kid like Luke Jovic cannot be ignored.
4. “Tottenham and Manchester United are set to go head to head for the signature of Inter Milan centre-back Diego Godin.” (Tier: 3)
Definitely oppose this potential signing since Godin is 34 years of age. He cannot withstand the intensity of the Premier League and should join United instead. Hopefully Levy and Mourinho realize this is a rebuilding process.
5. “Tottenham Hotspur are preparing an offer to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Braut Haaland” (Tier: 5)
I’m not even gonna bother. No chance we sign him at all. Should be Tier 900 to be fair.
As much as I want the young superstar at 20 years of age, no chance Levy will pull the trigger since he’s a cheapskate. With his 75 million buyout clause being criminally cheap of a player of his talent, 75 million pounds would be too expensive for Levy.
