To say there are multiple wildcats in the NBA is an understatement. Believe it or not, there are actually only a few teams in the NBA without a wildcat on the roster.
That’s why it was hard to make this list of the top 5 wildcats in the NBA. Even so, here’s the top 5 Kentucky Wildcats who are currently pro.
1. Anthony Davis
This one isn’t much of a debate; his name is one that almost everyone knows. He can play almost any position on the court, with ball movement like a guard.
When needed, he can shoot at a high level as well. In seven out of the eight seasons of his career, he has had over a 50% field goal percentage. He’s also a good rebounder, averaging 10.4 TRB (total rebounds per game).
2. Devin Booker
Since coming into the NBA Booker hasn’t ceased to rise above expectations. His career 3 point percentage is 35.5%. He is one of the best shooters in the NBA. He also has had more points in a single game than any former Kentucky Wildcat.
3. Karl-Anthony Towns
Since entering the league, Towns has been a two-way threat, with a career average of 11.8 TRB and a 53.4% field goal percentage. Fouling him isn’t a good idea, because his free throw percentage over his career season is 83.1%.
4. John Wall
The only problem for John Wall is being somewhat injury-prone. Other than that he is a top 5 point guard when on the court. He is definitely a prevalent playmaker in the league. Over his 9-year career in the NBA, Wall has averaged a total of 9.2 assists per game.
5. DeMarcus Cousins
Cousins has had his fair share of injuries as well as disputes with refs, but when healthy and not suspended he can help teams win. The 4-time all-star is most definitely a threat on the glass, considering his career average for total rebounds is 10.9. On occasion, he also can hit 3-pointers.
Adding to three-point shooting, he is also above average at the free-throw line. Over his 9-year career, Cousins has shot 73.7% at the charity stripe.
