Tom Izzo and Michigan State have landed their second player for the 2021 class in 5 star shooting guard, Max Christie Jr.
Max Christie Jr. announced his decision today, via Twitter. He chose Michigan State over Duke, Villanova, Ohio State, and many more.
The suburban Chicago prospect is ranked as the number one ranked shooting guard and the thirteen player in the country, according to 247Sports.
The 6-foot-6 guard averaged a solid 25 points and 11 rebounds for Rolling Meadows High School. He also lead the team to their first 20-win season for the first time in over 30 years.
Christie Jr., commits a little over a week after 2022 prospect Emoni Bates committed. They join Miles Bridges, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Joshua Langford as recent five star prospects to attend MSU for basketball.
Max will join 4 star combo guard, Pierre Brooks III in the 2021 class. Brooks is the 68th best prospect in America according to 247Sports. There is a really strong chance that Emoni Bates reclassifies to the 2021 class to potentially form a super team at MSU.
Obviously Max Christie Jr. is a huge pick up for MSU even if he only stays one year. He reminds me of a former Spartan in Gary Harris. Both can hit a three and can rebound very nicely for wing players.
Later today, there is a possibility of MSU landing a football recruit in 3 star wide receiver, Andrel Anthony, so stay tuned for that possibility.
