Just one year ago, high school sophomore and Wisconsin native James Graham III had 3 offers. During his sophomore season, Graham averaged 6.5 PPG and 3 RPG.
That year due to his size and athleticism he earned offers from Rutgers, DePaul, and Milwaukee. Graham had talent but wasn’t reaching his full potential yet.
Fast forward one year, Graham put together a sensational junior campaign at Nicolet High School in Wisconsin.
Graham went from averaging 6.5 PPG and 3.0 RPG to a whooping 20 PPG and 7 RPG. This rise in on-court performance and work ethic in Graham over the past year led him to receive offers from many powerhouse programs.
As seen in his highlights, Graham has terrific ball-handling and passing skills for being a 6′ 9″ forward. He seems to be all over the court.
He can defend on-ball very well, and his post moves, and the skill he has down in the paint is superior to many, as well as having the ability to stretch the floor and shoot from deep.
Graham’s high school team the Nicolet Knights is full of other talents as well.
6′ 8″ Jalen Johnson Class of 2020 G/F is signed with Duke, as well as junior point guard Kobe Johnson who holds offers from 9 Division 1 schools.
Nicolet HS led by coach Al Hanson put together a 22-3 season and made it all the way to states.
This past week, however, James Graham III experienced a sudden rise in his recruitment. From May 20th-May 27th the 6′ 9″ forward has picked up 8 offers.
The newest schools to offer him in the past week are Missouri, Cincinnati, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Auburn. Other schools that have offered Graham include Florida State, Wake Forest, Maryland, UNC-Wilmington, Milwaukee, DePaul, and Rutgers (his first offer).
Being just a Junior, Graham has the ability to get more offers and grow into one of the most intriguing prospects in the Class of 2021.
His recruitment remains wide open and the fight for Graham should come down to the wire.
