Earlier this week, I got a chance to interview Clarendon Hall SG Traveon Davis. He is a 6’ 4’’ shooting guard that weighs in at 235 pounds.
His size and incredible athleticism, comparable to a guard version of Zion Williamson, made him a human highlight reel in his senior season.
His alley oops and tomahawk slams as well as his ability to knock shots down from behind the arc helped him lead Clarendon Hall to another 1A South Carolina State Championship.
On the season, he averaged 19.1 PPG, 2.0 APG, and 5.3 RPG, which helped him gain the attention of programs such as South Carolina State, East Carolina, and the College of Charleston. He ultimately signed with Lincoln Memorial University, a Division II school in Tennessee.
Overall, the only thing he wants to do is win.

Q1. How are you holding up bro? Do you have access to a gym right now?
Everything been well. I’m just now being able to use my right hand again since the championship game. I haven’t been able to shoot with my right hand for a month but besides that everything well . Been doing a lot of full resistance bands and getting shots up outside since I haven’t been able to get in the gym or work out with coach Calloway!
Q2. When did you start to receive interest from schools and how have you managed basketball and school, as well as your social life?
I started to receive interest from schools in 8th grade from LM D1 schools . Just any time I see a ball or have time to at least put up some shots or work on what I need to. I usually go to the gym on Saturdays and Sundays to almost midnight to make sure my craft is where I want it to be . Basketball is what I do so it’s basically is my life Just Stretch , Eat , workout , sleep and repeat
Q3. During the season, I asked you for a recruitment update and you told me you were blocking it all out until after your Senior Season. How were you able to do that?
Just knowing that I had time and that it wasn’t going to go anywhere and I really wanted to focus on 1 thing at a time because when your mind wonders all over the place you make mistakes and I knew that this would be one of the biggest decisions of my life. Everybody wants to leave with a bang. It’s your senior season it should be kind of personal
Q4. Have you made a decision on where you will play next year and what are your goals moving forward?
I verbally committed to LMU. My goals are to get better on and off the court. Win games , become a better vocal player , and win a championship and time will tell as far as the future goes.
Q5. Finally, what do you think the recruitment process leaves to be desired? What aspects of your game can they not quantify?
I think the relationship you have with the coaches , experience, personality, just being a priority and not just another recruit . I think my size at 235 lbs at the guard spot. I think my athleticism and my vision as well.
Big Shout out to Traveon for the interview!
